Community

Cypress Creek EMS provides various avenues for injury prevention education in the community. The CCEMS Education Ambulance is an important tool in the public education process. All ages benefit from the information provided by this unit. Safety education includes how to call 9-1-1, proper use of bike helmets, correct fit for car seats, and the equipment used by paramedics in an emergency are incorporated.

Tours of the CCEMS Communications Center, first aid seminars, and car seat inspections are also available for schools and a variety of youth community service organizations. Paid and volunteer staff attend over 100 public events annually. These events allow CCEMS to educate approximately 30,000 people each year.

Special Events are held each year to help financially support the CCEMS scholarship and education program in the CCEMS service area. The FM 1960 St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a good example. Approximately 150,000 people attend the event to view the spectacular parade and support CCEMS.

Other annual events include the BBQ Cook-Off, Comedy Night and a Golf Tournament. These events, sponsored by gracious local companies, are extremely important to the success of our education programs.
