CCEMS Charles R. Hooks Education Center

Cypress Creek EMS has recently renovated their 6,000 square foot building used solely for educational purposes. This building consists of a main classroom and presentation forum capable of seating 200 people, 4 satellite classrooms, executive boardroom, and skills laboratory.

EMS education is instructed to allow for the expansion of the CCEMS membership as well as updating the current membership. Classes are taught to Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) standards and done under TDSHS approval.

The following EMS courses are taught:

  • Emergency Care Attendant (ECA)

  • Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) $550

  • Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic (EMT-P) $2200

CCEMS trained nearly 250 people in the field of EMS in 2005.

Cypress Creek EMS has a TDSHS approved continuing education (CE) program to keep the membership current on CE according to state standards. In addition to the formal CE program, the Education Center offers special CE symposiums and individualized CE training. In order to serve the medical community better, classes are offered at no charge to CCEMS members, firefighters, nurses, etc.

We are not offering CPR or EMT classes until Early 2009


Cypress Creek EMS teaches American Heart Association CPR and First Aid to its membership and to the community.

The following classes are taught:

  • Heartsaver First Aid,

  • Friends and Family CPR,

  • Heartsaver CPR,

  • and Healthcare Provider CPR.

A total of 2699 individuals were trained in 2005. In addition, CCEMS trained 41 CPR Instructors to help increase this number in 2006.


The Cypress Creek EMS Education Center also hosts other classes sponsored by CCEMS as well as other community organizations.

  • Tactical Operational Medical Support Course

  • EMS Cyclist Course

  • Rape Aggression Defense Class sponsored by the Harris County Sheriff’s Department

  • Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training sponsored by Harris County Citizen’s Corp and Judge Eckels

  • Training and meeting for various Amateur Radio Groups

  • Training for local hospitals and fire departments

Whether training care providers on better ways to treat the sick and injured or educating the citizens of the community on how to improve their own safety and health, CCEMS is dedicated to utilizing its every resource to make a positive impact on the area it serves.
