Public
Education
Cypress
Creek EMS provides
various avenues for injury
prevention education in the
community. The CCEMS
Education Ambulance, funded
by a grant from the Tenet
Foundation, is an important
tool in the public education
process. The ambulance is
used solely for education.
All ages benefit from the
information provided by this
unit. Safety education such
as how to call 9-1-1, proper
use of bike helmets, correct
fit for car seats, and the
equipment used by paramedics
in an emergency are
incorporated into this
teaching ambulance.

Tours of the
CCEMS Communications Center,
first aid seminars, and car
seat inspections are also
available for schools and a
variety of youth community
service organizations. Paid
and volunteer staff attend
nearly 100 public events
annually. These events allow
CCEMS to educate
approximately 13,800 people
each year.
Four out of Five Car Seats
are installed incorrectly!!!
Is Your One of Them???
CCEMS has 3
certified car seat
inspectors on staff. Over
300 seats are inspected at
regularly scheduled events.
In addition, grant funding
from the National Safe Kids
Coalition allowed CCEMS to
provide 25 deserving
families with brand new car
seats.
Special
Events are held each year to
help financially support
community education and
scholarship programs in the
CCEMS service area. The
FM 1960 St. Patrick’s Day
Parade is going on its
28th year. Approximately
75,000 people attend the
event to view a spectacular
parade and support CCEMS.
Other events
include a bar-b-q cook-off
and a golf tournament. These
events, sponsored by
gracious local companies,
are extremely important to
the success of our education
programs.
