Indiana Emergency Bill Ok'd

EVANSVILLE, IND. — Legislation allowing Indiana law officers trained as emergency responders to use their medical training to save lives in volatile situations such as mass shootings has cleared the General Assembly and is awaiting Gov. Mike Pence’s signature.

The Woodlands Township has reached an agreement with Cypress Creek Emergency Medical Services to house an ambulance at The Woodlands Fire Department’s Station No. 7, located at 26772 Kuykendahl Road in Harris County.

Houston Northwest Medical Center is sponsoring a monetary donation drive to purchase bicycle helmets for Cypress Creek EMS’ (CCEMS) bike rodeo program. Proceeds from the drive will help purchase helmets for local children who participate in the program that is designed to increase awareness of bicycle safety. Donations can be made until Thursday, September 30 in a monetary donation box that has been placed in the Women’s Atrium of the hospital, located at 710 FM 1960 Road West.

Mobile Bike Rodeo Training

Cypress Creek EMS, with support from the Houston Northwest Medical Center, has launched an updated bike safety program. With a grant received in August of 2008, CCEMS was able to purchase a bike rodeo trailer full of all of the equipment needed for a successful bike rodeo.
