CCEMS to Offer Free CPR Training to the CommunityMay 11, 2009In celebration of CPR/AED awareness week, CCEMS will be providing free CPR training to our community at the Charles R. Hooks Education Center. The American Heart Association’s “Family & Friends” CPR course will be taught on the following dates:
“Family & Friends” is designed for lay persons and is a CPR awareness class, not a certification course. Each class will be limited to 25 people and the student must be at least 16 years old. AHA’s national goal is to train one million people in CPR during this week. Their slogan: “Heroes aren’t born; they’re trained,” says it all. According to AHA, an estimated 166,000 lives are claimed each year by Sudden Cardiac Arrest, an electronic malfunction that causes rapid and chaotic heart activity. AHA also states that only about 6 percent of out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrest victims survive and fewer than 1/3 of cardiac arrest victims receive CPR. Effective CPR can DOUBLE or TRIPLE survival rates! Classes will be held at the new, state-of-the-art Education Center located in the heart of Spring, TX at 7111 Five Forks. If you are interested in learning CPR, please contact Lisa Robbins at 281-378-0800 to register. |
