Volunteer
with CCEMS
Medical
Care Providers
We utilize
Texas certified EMS
personnel to staff our
Mobile Intensive Care Units
as they provide 911
emergency service to those
in need. CCEMS will even
provide no cost EMT-B
training to those who
qualify. Anyone who
possesses a current Texas
Department of Health EMS
Certification (any level)
may apply for volunteer
membership. Once you become
a member we ask that you
contribute by riding at
least two 11-12 hour shifts
per month.
Non-Medical Drivers
Not all of
our staffing opportunities
require prior medical
training. Many of our
volunteers contribute as
non-medical drivers. This
valuable position helps
fulfill critical staffing
needs and frees additional
medically trained personnel
to focus on patient care. To
meet insurance requirements,
non-medical drivers must be
at least 25 years of age and
possess an insurable driving
record. Specialized training
will be provided. Once you
become a member we ask that
you contribute by riding at
least two 11-12 hour shifts
per month.
CPR
Instructors
Our CPR
program has grown from
training dozens to hundreds
of people each year. CPR
saves lives, and with your
help we can get this
valuable training to more
people. Anyone with, or
qualified to earn, a current
AHA CPR Instructor
certification can be part of
our growing community
education program. Course
availability is frequent and
there are even opportunities
to lead your own regularly
scheduled class.
Volunteer
Benefits
Cypress
Creek EMS is dedicated to
providing a rewarding
atmosphere for the
volunteers who make a
difference in our
organization. To help
achieve this, the
organization provides
several benefits. The more
subjective benefits such as
state of the art equipment,
aggressive treatment
therapies, open protocols,
and the opportunity to
practice your skills in a
supportive environment help
provide a positive
experience within the
organization. Other more
tangible benefits have been
provided to help relieve
some of the "real life"
concerns such as duty
related expenses and the
pursuit of knowledge and
development. Further details
and information can be
acquires from any member of
the organization's
leadership.
Uniform
Upon
successful completion of the
introductory program, CCEMS
provides each new member
with one red uniform shirt
with the CCEMS shoulder
emblem. CCEMS provides
each new member with one red
uniform shirt with the CCEMS
shoulder emblem and a pair
of black “medic” style
uniform pants
Insurance
Cypress
Creek EMS provides all
active members with worker’s
compensation style insurance
coverage in case of duty
related illness or injury.
Immunizations
In order to
provide a safer environment,
CCEMS offers Hepatitis B
Vaccinations, annual
tuberculosis testing, and
flu vaccines at no cost to
the member.
Education
Each active
member has an education
assistance allowance
available for knowledge
enrichment and professional
growth. The
amount available depends on
the activity level of the
member. Additional
educational pursuits may be
considered for activities
that will provide a benefit
to the organization. In
addition, free continuing
education is available
through the
CCEMS Education Center.
