Cypress Creek EMS is offering a Wilderness First Aid Course on May 20 & 21. This is a 16-hour course through the Emergency Care & Safety Institute in association with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). This Wilderness First Aid Course meets the Boy Scouts of America requirements for Scout leaders and for High Adventure Bases. This course is also designed for anyone who wants to be prepared for any medical or traumatic injury that occurs outside of an urban area.
In addition, as an EMS agency and a non-profit organization, one of our goals is to foster an interest in First Aid among Scouts and our community as well as increase the number of trained individuals. For this reason, we allow (1) Scout or Teenager (age 14 and up due to the course age requirements) to take the course for free with every paid adult. The cost of the course is $100 which includes the Wilderness First Aid Textbook (this course does not include CPR Certification). To register click here.
